Internet Requirements

One of the main things necessary to use a VoIP service is to have a high-speed internet connection. In today's world, just about any DSL or Cable internet will work. If you are a business and have multiple calls going on at the same time, you will need more internet speed. To be a little technical, each call will need 64 Kbps in each direction, or 128 Kbps for each phone call. So, if you are an office and have 10 simultaneous phone calls, your phone system will need a dedicated 1 MB connection for phone calls. If you have a slower DSL connection you might experience some "network jitter" if your internet connection drops off a bit. This is not good for anyone! There are ways that you can help minimize this jitter using packet priortizers and other network optimizations. We will work with you to be sure your calls are clear and consistent.
